Santa Clara firefighter Darrell L. Sales talked with Clint live this morning about his motivation for organizing the Bay to Brooklyn rides 15 years ago to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Now making its third stop in the City of Bowling Green, Ohio during the 25th anniversary ride, Darrell was joined by fellow firefighter Aurelio Perez, who drove the support vehicle for the team the last time they made the transcontinental trek, and is riding this year and Julian Villavicencio, a member of Station 1 with the San Francisco Fire Department.

On August 2, 2026, the group left the San Francisco Bay Area riding bicycles to Ground Zero and then on to the Brooklyn Bridge.
