The Wood County Planning Commission reviewed 5 applications during Tuesday night’s meeting for $310,000 in funding for PY 2026 CDBG Project Applications. Applications were for projects from the Ability Center, Bloomdale, Custar, Portage and Walbridge with Custar, Portage and the Ability Center receiving support. Horizon Youth Theatre – “Be More Chill” production June 5 & 6

Horizon Youth Theatre is proud to present “Be More Chill,” directed by Mikayla Trimpey, through special arrangement with Concord Theatricals. With music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and book by Joe Tracz, the musical will be performed at the Town Hall Theater at 24282 Front St, Grand Rapids, Ohio on June 5 & 6 at 7:00 pm and June 7 at 2:00 pm.

Stan Korducki, President & CEO of Wood County Hospital – Ohio Hospital Association Award

A prestigious longevity award was presented to Wood County Hospital at the Ohio Hospital Association (OHA) 11th Annual Meeting in Columbus recently. This event marked a significant milestone for WCH and recognized their longstanding service and commitment. President Korducki was also honored as Ohio’s longest-seated current hospital CEO, with more than 30 years of leadership!

Tom Ross, BG Parks and Recreation Board – Levy Update

The Bowling Green Parks & Recreation Board agreed unanimously at Tuesday night’s meeting to increase the amount of this November’s property tax levy to offset rising costs, new facilities that have come online and increased participation in the many programs they now offer. Voters will decide on a 5-year renewal at 2 mills plus an additional .95 mills.
