Kyle Clark- Wood County Educational Service Center

Kyle Clark serves as the Director of Prevention Education Services at the Wood County Educational Service Center. Kyle joins Clint once a month or so to talk about the mission of the WCESC to develop, deliver and implement quality educational services and programs for 11 school districts across Wood County. Ian Hill & Paul Berry- Senior Fair Board

The Senior Fair Board for the Wood County Fair is welcoming visitors from across northwest Ohio to a special FREE event Monday, April 14th at 6:30 in the Pratt Pavilion. Wood County was selected to host a training site for a national “You make THE difference” campaign dedicated to saving local fairs and community events in rural America.

Britteny Klockowski- BG Persists

Organizer Brittney Klockowski of BG Persists joins Clint to talk about this “Town Hall” being held this weekend at in Bowling Green. When describing the planned event BG Persists says, “As government policies rapidly change, citizens need to know how their lives will be impacted. As Representative Bob Latta’s phone lines have been jammed, local organizers invited him to a community Town Hall to hear directly from his constituents. The event will be moderated by retired broadcaster Jerry Anderson and will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Peace Lutheran Church, 1021 W. Wooster, Bowling Green, OH.

Dave Schultz & Chris Aldrich- Tractor Pulling Championships

Only 127 days until PULLTOWN USA 🇺🇸🍻 comes alive for the 58th annual National Tractor Pulling Championships in City of Bowling Green, Ohio! Dave Schultz, the President of Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Association, joins TAM Principal Partner Chris Aldrich to talk about the media partnership that has taken the NTPC to another level with videos and documentaries about the event.

Kathy Mull & Robin Guidera- The Cocoon

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month so The Cocoon Executive Director Kathy Mull and Robin Guidera visits Clint to recap and preview the many awareness events taking place across Wood County and Bowling Green State University. Robin and Kathy also talked about some extraordinary video projects that have been done to promote awareness and education about sexual assault by Toledo Areial Media TAM.

That is over 550 incidents per day. Sexual assault is not limited to age, ethnicity, geography, or economics. It occurs daily in businesses, at schools, in parks and streets, and to children and elders.

Ohio Council Meeting

Wood County Health Department Commissioner Ben Robison reported to City of Bowling Green, Ohio Council meeting Monday night about the Tobacco Use Prevention Grant and this summer’s survey which will tell about the usage habits of nicotine users in Wood County. Robison was invited by Mayor Aspacher to explain that nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known. The city was considering legislation establishing a temporary (1 year) moratorium on vape and smoke establishments or shops within the city limits. According to the administration, there are now 14 shops selling vape products exclusively and many more that sell the products as well as other items. Listen here to Clint’s interviews with 3 members of city council, Greg Robinette, Jeff Dennis and Bill Herald as well as WC Health Department Commissioner Ben Robison after Monday night’s council meeting. After amending the proposed legislation to a 6-month moratorium by a 4-3 vote, City Council voted by a 5-2 margin to approve the measure. Mayor Aspacher did say the administration wasn’t aware of any other cities or townships in Wood County that have instituted a similar moratorium on vape locations.

Shawn Reeves & Morgan Wenner- Painted Clovers Market

This past Saturday nearly 90 vendors set up in the Pratt Pavilion for the bi-annual Painted Clovers Market and that’s where we caught up with Shawn Reeves and Morgan Wenner.

Andrew Kalmar- Wood County Park District, Assistant Director

In 1989 George Bush became the 41st President of the United States, Disney released the movie “Little Mermaid” and Andrew Kalmar was hired by the Wood County Park District to mow grass in the parks after the passage of their 1st operational levy. Fast forward and 35 years later and after serving many years as Director of the Park District then 22 years as County Administrator, Andrew is still serving the residents of Wood County as Assistant Director and volunteering in many ways like helping with the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club – Ohio Pancake breakfast this past Saturday. Karen Kotula & Matt Henry- 4-H Committee

Ohio 4H Hall of Fame member Karen Kotula of the Dowling Stitch, Stir, and Stock 4-H Club shared her vision with us for this past weekends’ “Hands to a Larger Service” event Sunday along with Matt Henry, President, 4-H Committee.Listen to Clint’s visit with Karen and Matt after approximately 600 young people turned out for the inaugural day of service, coming together for a shared purpose of making a difference. You’ll also hear comments from Deb DeWeese and Jenny Morlock plus Olivia Zieman of the Rough Riders 4H Club.

Haraz N. Ghanbari- State Representative

Clint talks with State Representative Haraz N. Ghanbari at Saturday’s Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast about the Ohio House introducing their version of the state budget. Included in the recommendations, the bill introduced in the House Finance Committee eliminates the Public Library Fund (PLF) as it currently exists in state law. Wood County District Public Library Director Michael Penrod called the show last Friday to express his concern about how the House’s version of the budget could impact Ohio’s public libraries.

BGHS Spring Musical

Mark your calendars for next weekend, April 10-13 because The BGHS spring musical is coming up! The show is All Shook Up, a comedy very loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley. Dolores Black & Erin Fahey- BGSU Women’s Golf

Dolores Black on has a conversation with BGSU Women’s Golf Coach Erin Fahey about their upcoming Invitational. The Bowling Green women’s golf team hosts its annual Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The two-day event will be contested at Stone Ridge Golf Club, a par-72, 5,911-yard course in Bowling Green.
Each day will feature 18 holes. Saturday is a shotgun start at 11 a.m., while Sunday will feature a 10 a.m. shotgun start.

Theresa Pollick- Northwestern Water & Sewer District
