For 50 years The Ohio State University Extension -Wood County 4-H members have spent a week each summer at Camp Palmer. Again, this year, we’ve had the opportunity to talk with campers and counselors on the show as they call in to tell us about the “experience of a lifetime”. Dr. Krovi comes to Bowling Green from Weber State University, a comprehensive public, regional university serving more than 30,000 students near Salt Lake City, Utah, where he served as provost and senior vice president of academic affairs since 2020. Throughout his career, he has successfully leveraged external partnerships with a variety of organizations to develop new programs, faculty positions and student success initiatives.

Already this past weekend 15 soccer fields welcomed campers to Bowling Green State University and this week it’s hundreds of cheerleaders and 600 Buckeye Girls Staters and that’s just the beginning!
Listen to Clint’s interview with Patrick Nelson, the director of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union and Conference and Event Services, who told us over 12,000 overnight campers are expected with hundreds more day campers over the 2025 9-week summer schedule. Patrick shares that 2026 should see even larger numbers of campers visiting BGSU and filling our hotels, restaurants and shops with visitors.

Topics discussed with Governor DeWine ranged from the new Biannual Budget negotiations, School Funding, SB 1 and it’s effect on college campuses and the citizen led movement to eliminate property taxes.

Angela Patchen, WCESC prevention program manager, shares details with Clint on Wednesday’s show about a new collaboration with the Juvenile Justice Department and the creation of a Community-Based Diversion Program.
We also took time to congratulate Angie; the Ohio Prevention Professionals Association recently deemed her a Community Champion during its 2025 annual awards ceremony. The award is given for going beyond expectations to champion prevention in their community!
