For 40 years, Early Intervention has partnered with families of infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities, helping families build upon everyday routines and experiences to support their child’s development. The anniversary celebration will recognize the children, families, professionals, and community partners who have been part of Early Intervention throughout its history in Wood County.

Clint and his guests spent time this morning talking about the critical nature of this support to continue service for county seniors with WCCOA Executive Director Alisha Nenadovich and Assistant Director Angie Bradford. Alisha told Clint this morning “The 1.0‑mill renewal levy is a property tax measure that does not increase taxes — it simply continues the current levy that WCCOA already collects. It is set for five years and is essential for maintaining and expanding the organization’s programs.”

The first is with the Wood County Committee on Aging about the trial court process. The second is with Wood County HS Seniors about laws that are important to know when you turn 18.

This morning the President of the Wood County Hospital, Stan Korducki, shared with Clint his appreciation for the work being done by the WCH’s Environmental Services team.

Last week the team celebrated with treats, a taco bar, lunch and raffle prize drawings for National Healthcare Environmental Services Week!

From patient rooms and clinical areas to hallways and waiting spaces, the team helps ensure every part of the hospital is ready to provide the best possible experience for patients, visitors and staff.

Their efforts have helped WCH achieve a 5-star cleanliness rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) while consistently earning high marks for cleanliness and patient satisfaction.

You’ll also hear about a “Car Seat Checkup Event” taking place this weekend and Stan and Clint talked about the growing impact AI is having in the healthcare field.

For the first time in its history, the College of Education and Human Development (EDHD) has raised more than $1 million in scholarships for its students to be awarded at its annual scholarship awards event.

The achievement represents more than a decade of growth in scholarship support for the College of Education and Human Development. This academic year, 314 EDHD students will benefit from scholarships funded by 186 individual donors.

BGSU has a long history of producing excellent educators, dating back to the university’s founding in 1910. Today, Bowling Green remains Ohio’s largest single-site teacher education program while also offering a wide variety of non-teaching degrees.

This year’s recipients represent traditional education majors alongside students in programs such as sport management, pre-physical therapy, interior design, clinical mental health counseling, exercise science, and human development and family science.

Jo also wanted to reach out and ask for volunteers to help with Sunday’s “Spruce up the Park Day” and to invite the community to bring their canine family members to enjoy the City of Bowling Green, Ohio‘s first off-leash park.

Clint visited with Julie on Wednesday morning’s show, where they talked about the 42-year history of the studio and the vision for the Nutcracker Ballet back in 2006 plus, the many FREE exhibitions these talented performers are doing around Wood County this fall.

Clint was on hand to get comments on the project from Wood County Commissioner Dr. Ted Bowlus, President of the Northwestern Water & Sewer District Doug Stephens, Garret Chamberlain, District Engineer, and Interim Wood County Health Commissioner Rachel Aeschliman for our Wednesday morning local news.

The project brought new public water connections and reliable sanitary sewer service to the Dunbridge community. The sewer improvements address failing household septic systems identified by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency as a public-health and environmental concern.

The Wood County Commissioners committed $8.7 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, helping turn a long-standing community need into completed infrastructure while reducing the financial burden on residents. In total, the project installed 2.3 miles of new waterline and nearly 5.8 miles of sanitary sewer infrastructure, providing new water connections to more than 40 homes and businesses and connecting 102 properties to the sanitary sewer system.

During the celebration, attendees raised water in a toast to clean water in Dunbridge and the county and local partners, crews, engineers who made the project possible.

The Wood County Solid Waste Management District is hosting a tire amnesty event/ scrap tire recycling drive on Saturday, September 19th, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, rain or shine. This event will take place in the Wood County Fairgrounds parking lot, located at 13800 W. Poe Rd, Bowling Green, on the corner of Poe Road and Haskins Road. This event is open only to Wood County residents.

This collection is a drive-thru-style event, with volunteers to assist in unloading vehicles. Residents will enter from Haskins Road and exit on Poe Road. Please follow all cones and signage.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Car and small truck tires ONLY. No semi/ commercial tires or farm/ tractor tires.

Residents ONLY. No businesses or service garages.

All tires must be off the rim and free of debris.

ID or proof of residency is required to prove you are a Wood County resident.

There is a limit of 10 tires per vehicle.

There is a small fee of $1 per tire. Cash only; exact change preferred. No $50 or $100 bills.

Sergeant Ryan E. Purpura, Sgt. Dana Skinner and Trooper Logan Kirkendall visited Clint on Thursday’s show to share their experiences as a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

If you’re looking to conduct your written and physical tests closer to home? The Patrol will host regional testing for prospective applicants at the Wood County Regional Airport located at 1261 E. Poe Rd. in Bowling Green on September 21. Those planning to attend should wear business casual attire and bring appropriate physical fitness clothing and shoes to change into.

For those with special interest in aviation – an OSHP aircraft static display will start at 9am. Testing will begin at 10am.

Those interested in employment with the Patrol will have the ability to talk with troopers about a career of service in our communities and on Ohio’s roadways. Those who meet the basic requirements to be a trooper – age 20 to 39, U.S. citizen, high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver license – will have the opportunity to complete an application and a written test during the event. If the written test is passed, applicants can proceed and take the physical fitness assessment on the spot.
