BG City Schools, 4th grade students – 42nd Annual Farm Festival

Bowling Green City Schools, Ohio 4th grade students had the opportunity to take part in the 42nd Annual Farm Festival Thursday. This hands-on experience helped students explore the vital role agriculture plays in their daily livesโ€”from animals and plants to conservation and food production. Chloe Brown, Chronic Disease Epidemiologist – Wood County Health Department

Chloe Brown, chronic disease epidemiologist for the Wood County Health Department joins Clint to talk about her May 2026 report regarding melanoma. Chloe explains the details which say skin cancer is the most common cancer in the US. Melanoma, a type of skin cancer, is the fifth most common cancer diagnosis in the US, Ohio, and Wood County. Rates of new melanoma diagnoses are higher in Wood County compared to Ohio and the US.

Bill Hamilton, WCESC Prev. Spec “Hooked on Fishing” and Lane Montz, President BBB and BBB Ethics Foundation update

First up, Bill Hamilton is the WCESC prevention specialist at Northwood and has been leading a program called “Hooked on Fishing” for decades. This year, more than 600 students from Otsego, Rossford, Lake, and Northwood, will meet Bill throughout the month of May and go fishing. Bill shares with Clint he’s been running this program for almost 20 years and before that, served the Rossford Ohio community as the DARE officer with the Rossford Ohio PD!
Lane Montz, President of the Better Business Bureau and Better Business Bureau Ethics Foundation Inc is in the studio and shares an invitation for folks to nominate local businesses for this year’s Torch Awards!

Park Police Chief Troy Bateson who told the Park Commissioners at Tuesday’s meeting about a new lost and found policy that’s been implemented. The Biggest Week in American Birding is held annually in northwest Ohio, often called the “Warbler Capital of the World,” and is organized by the Black Swamp Bird Observatory (BSBO) at Magee Marsh and Maumee Bay State Park.
