Clint chats with new Board President, Dr. Nancy Orel, plus Executive Director Alisha Nenadovich after the board unanimously voted to ask the Wood County Commissioners to place a renewal of the existing 1% property tax levy on the ballot in November for operating expenses. According to Orel the 1-mill levy makes up 73% of the annual budget for the eight senior centers in the county, for the meals delivered to seniors’ homes across the county, and for various programming to serve Wood County seniors. Orel said that Federal funding covers just 7% of the budget.

Zach Migura, Executive Director of the Wood County Veterans Service Office, demonstrated to the Wood County Commissioners how veterans’ “jam sessions” are helping local veterans learn guitar while building a strong support network.
