Herbert Dettmer, Bowling Green American Legion Post 45 – Memorial Day Ceremony

Listen to Veteran Herbert Dettmer from Bowling Green American Legion Post 45 who recited “May and a Mother Wept” at the Memorial Day Ceremony at Oak Grove Cemetary Monday.
The master of ceremony was Colonel (U.S. Army, Retired) Greg Robinette. Wood County Common Pleas Judge Matthew Reger delivered the keynote address. The National Anthem was performed by the Bowling Green High School Band. Vocalist Evvie Van Vorhis sang “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful.”
Thanks to all who turned out during the parade and at the ceremony to honor the memory of those who made the “ultimate sacrifice” in service to our country.

Bob Midden and Greg Rich- PorchFest 2025

Hey music lovers it’s almost time for PorchFest 2025! Talented musicians as well as members of the organizing committee again this year, Bob Midden and Greg Rich talk about the history of Porchfest and what you can expect this Saturday. With 18 bands playing on 12 porches in the Eberly Ave. area, as well as at Arlyn’s Good Beer, this year’s Porchfest promises more music, more food, and more fun for all.
This free event will begin on Saturday, May 31, at 1:45pm, with the Samba Bateria marching band kicking things off, and will run through 7:15pm at porch stages along Eberly and Gorrell Aves., including at Arlyn’s Good Beer. Listen here to our conversation

Mark Shamp, Jen Horak, Chad Smith and Ana Smith all joined Clint in the studio Friday morning to invite everyone to this Saturday’s Wood County Showdown events at the store and parking lot of the Woodland Mall. The community is invited to the Wood County Showdown Saturday (May 24) to support local veterans, businesses, first responders and law enforcement.

Congratulations to the Falcon Flight Team at Bowling Green State University for once again soaring to success at the NIFA SAFECON National Competition! ✈️ For the second year in a row, BGSU has earned national recognition, placing among the top student flight teams in the country. The #BGSU aviation program is one of the largest in the U.S. and is one of the few universities in the country with an airport on its campus.

2025 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track & Field Champions, check, 2025 Mid American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, check, now it’s off to the @NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Jacksonville, Florida next week. Six Falcons have qualified in individual events, the most ever for the program since regional competition began in 2003.

The 31st Annual Wood County Humane Society Benefit Garage Sale opens its doors on Thursday, May 22 at 9am and runs thru Saturday, May 24 at 2pm in the Grandstands and Home & Garden Buildings at the Wood County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green.

Samantha Boyle, founder – Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness

The Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness officially opened their 23rd Kindness Room, and the 1st for Bowling Green City Schools, Ohio at Crim Elementary Tuesday.
Listen to Clint’s interviews and hear comments from the campaign founder, Samantha Boyle, who shares her motivation for this initiative after the loss of her son who was bullied by a close friend.

Clint talks with several kids about their kindness efforts plus School administration officials who said this program may be expanded to the Junior high and High School in the future.


Kindness Rooms are creative spaces where students, faculty, volunteers, and the community can come together to create intentional acts of kindness.
